Working on chapter twenty-five this evening. Have hit the 55,000 word mark. It's my understanding that the typcial YA fantasy novel is between 45,000 and 65,000 words.
I live in perpetual fear that this thing is just too long. I'll be lucky to come in under 65,000 after an editor takes a chainsaw to it.
Listening to the new Dinosaur Jr. album Beyond while I write this evening. It's hard to believe it doesn't entirely suck, but it doesn't.
