Medea and the Serpent Chariot.

I stumbled upon this very cool illustration of Medea, travelling in a chariot drawn by enormous serpents. It's a moment drawn from classical mythology, documenting her escape after vengefully murdering her ex's new wife and children.

Detail from Lucanian calyx-crater c. 400 BC.

The serpent chariot is bad-ass.

It will play a part in Black Poplar. Likely a vehicle for the Goddess Hecate, and coming into play near the end of the tale.
