I couldn't be more excited!
Eight months and forty four chapters ago, I jotted down some notes. Initial thoughts on a book I'd like to write. This afternoon, I'll finish the first draft of that book.
I know I've got a couple months of editing and revision ahead of me, but am looking forward to it. Thus far I've found that cranking out an initial draft is the hard work. Editing, working to develop character, fine-tuning each voice, combing the draft for inconsistencies are all more enjoyable tasks.
My original goal was to have the second draft completed by November 2007. With any luck, I'll beat that deadline by two months or more.
