Unfunked (er...at least giving it a good shot).

Things NOT to be depressed about (re: previous lame post):

Metric's - Live It Out. I'm late to this band. Blondie, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Elastica, maybe a little bit of Pretty Girls Make Graves and even a bit of Garbage.

The New Interpol record - Our Love to Admire. Love 'em or hate 'em - it's freaking Interpol.

Two new books from Neil Gaiman in one month - Interworld and M Is For Magic. Interworld is a novel, written in conjunction with Michael Reaves. M is for Magic is a collection of short fiction for young readers. Great package on "M is for Magic", too.

Hellboy -Darkness Calls. The new run from Dark Horse Comics, Mike Mignola and Duncan Fegredo. I always prefer Mignola's art, but Duncan does a fine job and Mignola's witchy story is aces.
Saving the best for last...

Red Seas Under Red Skies, the sophomore novel from Wisconsin wunderkind Scott Lynch. The Lies of Locke Lamora was the best Fantasy novel of last year, bar none (even though I think every cover has done it a grave injustice). Great characters, dialogue that grabs you from page one and a more plot twists than Ocean's Thirteen. I'm eager to see if Scott can manage to pull it off a second time.
