The first outline for the illustrated teen/vampire diary I'm working on is due to the publisher on Dec 3rd. I'm most of the way there - just need to A) beef up the portions of classic summer camp activities B) flesh out the relationship between the protagonist and one of the peripheral characters and C) spend a little time reviewing potential titles for the book/series.
It's exciting stuff, as next I put pen to paper (er...so to speak) and really get writing. The book is heavily illustrated (more on that later) AND it's an epistolary tale, told largely in letters and diary entries. I've not written in this style before and am really looking forward to the challenge and the lessons to be learned.
