Crap:
Waterworks (Wildstorm). Even though Mike Carey wrote this I couldn't love it. Couldn't even like it. Bad premise. No characterization (except, I suppose, for the villain).
So-So:
Alan Moore's collected run working on Wildc.a.t.s (Wildstorm)
Jack of Fables (vol 2): Jack of Hearts (Vertigo). Willingham wrote it. Classic fables-style illustrations from Atkins and Pepoy. Struck me more like a mediocre short story collection than the award-winning work everyone buzzes about.
Mindblowing:
Skin Hunger, the NBA finalist from Kathleen Duey (S&S). Think amazing dark fantasy ala Martin and without all the sex. No siree, not a drop of Harry Potter here. Dark, character-driven, cliff hangers and surprises galore. Will write more on this later.
